Technical Consulting & Architecture
Architecture reviews, codebase audits, and technical direction for teams that need a straight answer before committing budget.
Brussels, Belgium · Senior-led delivery
Some decisions are worth a second opinion before they become permanent: whether to rewrite or refactor, whether a stack choice will hold at ten times the load, whether an inherited codebase is salvageable, whether a roadmap is technically realistic. This is advisory work delivered as a written assessment you can act on, including the option to conclude that no development work is needed.
When this applies
- A rewrite is being proposed and nobody can say objectively whether it is justified.
- The application slows down as data grows and the cause has not been identified.
- You are about to acquire or inherit a codebase and need to know what is in it.
- There is no in-house technical leadership to sanity-check a roadmap or a vendor.
What you get
- A written assessment with findings ranked by risk and effort, not a slide deck
- Codebase audit covering structure, dependencies, test coverage, and known risk areas
- Performance and scalability analysis based on measurement rather than assumption
- Technology selection with the trade-offs stated explicitly, including doing nothing
- A staged technical roadmap tied to business milestones
- Fractional technical leadership on a recurring basis where ongoing direction is needed
How it runs
Framing
We agree the specific question to answer. Open-ended reviews produce open-ended findings.
Investigation
Code, infrastructure, and data are examined directly, alongside conversations with the people who work on them.
Assessment
Findings are delivered in writing, prioritised by risk and cost to address.
Direction
We walk through the recommendations with your team, including what to ignore.
Questions
- Will you recommend building something?
- Only when it is the right answer. A meaningful share of these engagements conclude that the existing system should be repaired or left alone, and that is stated plainly in the assessment.
- What does fractional technical leadership involve?
- Recurring involvement in technical decisions without a full-time hire: reviewing architecture, assessing candidates or vendors, and keeping the roadmap technically honest.
- Do you review code written by other agencies?
- Yes. The assessment describes the state of the code and the risk it carries, factually and without commentary on the previous team.
