The Weekly Dev is two things run by the same person: a technology publication that has been writing about JavaScript and TypeScript since 2022, and a software studio that builds production systems in Brussels.

Why both exist
The publication came first. It started in 2022 as a place to write down things worth remembering: how reduce actually works, when useMemo earns its keep, why exhaustive checking with never catches a class of bug that tests do not. Writing about a technique forces a level of precision that using it does not.
The studio is what that precision is for. Every article here is written by someone who then has to live with those decisions in production code, which is why the writing stays specific and avoids the confident generalisations that fill most developer blogs.
Keeping both under one masthead is deliberate. Clients can read years of technical writing before making a decision, which is a far better signal than a capabilities deck. And the discipline runs the other way too: it is difficult to write honestly about maintainable architecture while shipping something you would not want to explain.
How it is structured
The Weekly Dev SRL is a Belgian company based in Brussels, founded and operated by Vassilios Zalimidis. It is not an agency, and there is no intention of becoming one. There is no sales team, no account management layer, and no bench of junior developers waiting to be assigned to your project.
In practice this means the person who takes your first call is the person who designs the schema, writes the code, and is still there when something needs changing eighteen months later. Where a project genuinely needs skills outside that scope (specialist design, native mobile, dedicated infrastructure work), that is said up front, and trusted collaborators are brought in openly rather than presented as staff.
Working together
Engagements are direct and deliberately transparent. Code lives in your repository from day one. Work ships continuously to an environment you can use. Scope is written down, including what is excluded, so neither side is guessing about what done means.
The studio is based in Brussels and works remotely with clients across Belgium and the European Union, in the CET / CEST timezone. Meetings in person are practical within Belgium.
